We teamed up with AJE at the 4th Under 30 Fest

The fourth edition of Under 30 Fest set the perfect stage to show how software engineering and art direction can merge live.

Jester In teams up with AJE to take Under 30 Fest into space

For years, Javier Blanco (designer and partner at Jester In) has been working with AJE, ever since its first edition. For this new edition, the AJE team got in touch with us so that Javier could be part of the show and of the VOLTAJE section of the event.

As soon as we met with the AJE professionals, we started to see more opportunities to work together. That is how we ended up bringing Rubén Blanco (CEO and developer) into the VOLTAJE section, and we took on part of the organisation of the event by putting forward an idea to encourage visitors to take part in a very special giveaway.

UNDER 30 and the gamification of an event

On our website we offer a free diagnosis in exchange for beating a minigame we designed ourselves, our own take on the famous "space invaders". And because of the "space" theme of the event, we made a version for an UNDER 30 FEST giveaway.

What we ended up creating was a version of the space invaders game, adapted to the event to become the structure of the giveaway. The rules were simple: whoever beat it first would win an exclusive T-shirt.

That is how «Derriba al ovni» (Shoot down the UFO) was born: our own version with its own visual identity, soundtrack, stage bosses and an imposing UFO as the final boss, which we gave a shortcut from the menu of our corporate website.

SHOOT DOWN THE UFO

Our proposal for this UNDER 30 FEST, coordinated hand in hand with Judith Hernández from AJE, took shape as a printed poster with a QR code optimised to play straight from your phone.

But how do you certify the winner in real time?

  • Live scoreboard: we set up the platform to record the exact time of each victory (synchronised to the millisecond across every device) and projected an open ranking on a giant screen.
  • Mobile optimisation: we adapted the interface so the game switched smoothly to full screen. That is how we guaranteed performance and stability even with dozens of people competing at the same time.

The response from the audience exceeded our expectations. The whole room threw itself into the minigame, turning gamification into the real driver of participation that day. Proof that the best way to connect with an audience is to combine flawless art direction with technical development that works first time.

Minijuego de Jester In

Llega a 3000 y derriba al ovni

Mueve con el dedo o las flechas. Dispara sola.

Aliens at VOLTAJE

VOLTAJE is a section of the UNDER 30 FEST event. A format hosted by Javi Chou, with the duo Millos Dúo, featuring people who have started their own business. This edition shared the stage with a jewellery brand, a tattoo studio, the Kairós Awards and, on behalf of Jester In, Javier and Rubén.

What is more, at this event Javier played an alien who had come from a galaxy far, far away to share entrepreneurship ideas and liven up the day with photo sessions, dancing and fun conversations.

Content production for AJE

Before the event we also made the two videos AJE used to announce Under 30 and Voltaje, one of them styled as an arcade machine with our pixel-art avatars, using the material Cristina sent us. The day before, on the 19th, we were interviewed on «El Mirador» on Onda Regional about Under 30 Fest, and on the 20th a clip of Javier aired on the news.

A great experience

It means a lot that the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Region of Murcia thought of us to take part in the 4th edition of UNDER 30 FEST. We want to support initiatives that foster growth and support other business owners and entrepreneurs, and we will be delighted to keep taking part in such wonderful and necessary projects.
